1. Purpose of this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Better Future Group, referred to as “BFG”, uses cookies and other storage or access technologies on this website. It should be read with the Privacy Policy and Website Terms.
“Cookies” is used as a convenient term for cookies, pixels, tags, scripts, local storage, device identifiers and similar technologies that store information on, or access information from, a user’s device.
2. The legal framework
BFG manages storage and access technologies in accordance with applicable UK privacy and data protection law, including the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, as amended, the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 where applicable, and relevant regulatory guidance.
Non essential technologies will not be activated before the required consent has been obtained, unless a lawful exception applies. BFG does not treat continued browsing, silence or a pre selected option as consent.
3. Categories of technology
| Category | Purpose | Consent position |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, session management, form protection, consent preferences, accessibility functions, load balancing and core website operation | May operate without consent where genuinely necessary for a service requested by the user, for website security or for communications permitted by law. Clear information is still provided. |
| Preferences | Remembering choices such as display, language or interface preferences | Consent is obtained where the technology is not exempt. |
| Analytics and measurement | Understanding website use, improving content, measuring performance and diagnosing technical problems | Activated only after consent unless a particular implementation has been assessed as falling within a lawful exception. |
| Marketing and remarketing | Advertising, campaign measurement, profiling or tracking across services | Not activated without the required consent and transparent information. BFG does not currently intend to use marketing or remarketing cookies without a separately approved configuration. |
| Embedded or third party content | Video, maps, social content, forms, security services or other embedded functionality | Controlled according to the technology, provider and applicable law. Some content may remain unavailable until the relevant choice is made. |
4. Consent platform and banner
BFG uses Complianz as its consent management platform. Complianz is intended to record consent choices, support the preference centre and help control non essential technologies according to their consent category. BFG will keep the Complianz configuration aligned with the actual scripts and technologies used on the website.
Where a consent banner is shown, it explains that necessary cookies may operate and gives visitors an active choice about optional technologies. On the current staging configuration, Complianz presents Accept, Deny and View preferences controls. The preference centre allows visitors to review and change their optional choices.
The preference centre must allow users to revisit or withdraw optional choices through the website’s cookie preference or “Manage consent” control. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Refusing optional technologies should not prevent access to the core website unless a particular feature genuinely depends on them.
5. Current website inventory
At this staging release, BFG has not enabled analytics, advertising, marketing, social-media, video, map or other third-party embedded services. A staging-only manual review found first-party WordPress, theme and approved plugin assets, together with the Complianz consent-management assets. No optional analytics or marketing service is intentionally active.
| Technology or service | Current staging purpose | Consent position |
|---|---|---|
| Complianz | Consent banner, preference centre and consent-state management | Strictly necessary for administering cookie choices and the consent interface. |
| WordPress, theme and approved plugins | Website delivery, navigation, forms, security, accessibility and core functionality | Strictly necessary where required for the requested website service or security. |
| Analytics and measurement | No analytics service is currently enabled on staging. | Not active. No analytics cookies are intentionally set. |
| Marketing, advertising and remarketing | No marketing or advertising service is currently enabled on staging. | Not active. No marketing cookies are intentionally set. |
| Third-party embeds | No social, video, map or other third-party embed is currently enabled on staging. | Not active. Any future embed will be assessed and consent-controlled before use. |
This manual inventory is the current staging position. BFG will recheck it before production deployment and whenever it adds or removes analytics, advertising, embedded content, form services, security tools, consent tools or other scripts. The production inventory will identify, where applicable, each technology’s name, provider, purpose, duration, category, data recipients and international transfer position.
A technology will not be described as necessary merely because it is convenient or useful. Until a technology has been assessed and recorded, BFG will not intentionally activate it as an optional technology. Approved future services, such as Google Analytics 4 or Google Tag Manager, are not treated as active merely because they may be considered for a later release.
6. Third party scripts and providers
Third party technologies may be supplied by hosting, security, consent management, analytics, embedded content, form or other service providers. BFG currently uses Hostinger for website hosting and Hostinger email services. Hostinger may process technical, enquiry and email information on BFG’s behalf.
Where a provider acts as a processor, BFG will use appropriate contractual and security arrangements. Where a third party acts as an independent controller, its own privacy information and terms may apply. BFG will not add a third party script to the website without assessing its purpose, cookie behaviour, consent requirement, data recipients, retention and international transfer position.
7. International transfers
Some providers may access or process technical information outside the United Kingdom. Before a restricted transfer takes place, BFG will use an applicable lawful mechanism, such as an adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to standard contractual clauses or another permitted safeguard.
8. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to block, delete or restrict cookies. Browser controls may not withdraw a consent record held by BFG or stop all forms of storage and access. The website preference centre is the primary way to manage optional technologies used by this website.
9. Retention and personal data
Cookie and preference records are retained for the period reasonably necessary to administer choices and demonstrate compliance. BFG’s starting period for cookie consent and preference records is 12 months from the last recorded choice, or the period configured in the consent platform where that is shorter or otherwise required.
Information obtained through cookies or similar technologies may constitute personal data. The Privacy Policy explains the purposes, lawful bases, sharing, retention, rights and security measures that apply to personal data collected through the website.
10. Changes to this policy
BFG may update this policy when the website, technology inventory, consent configuration, law or regulatory guidance changes. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date. BFG will update the inventory and consent controls when it introduces or removes a material technology.
